Licence and safety

Is Neptune Casino safe? Checking BetNeptune's UK licence

A licence is a starting point, not a verdict. Here is what we could confirm, what it means in practice, and how to check it yourself in about two minutes.

"Safe" depends on which Neptune

This page is about BetNeptune. If the Neptune Casino you have in mind is Neptune Play, the one relevant fact we can offer is from the register: on 26 September 2026 its domain, neptuneplay.com, was listed as "Inactive". We make no other comment on that business.

What a Gambling Commission licence means for you

An operator licensed for Great Britain has to follow the Commission's rules. In practical terms that means age and identity checks before you gamble, games that meet technical standards, safer gambling tools on the account, disclosure of how customer funds are protected, a complaints process with an independent dispute route, and participation in schemes such as GAMSTOP. It also means a public record: anyone can look the licensee up.

What a licence does not tell you

Protections inside the account

BetNeptune's play responsibly page lists deposit, wager and loss limits by day, week or month, time-outs, a session timer, reality checks and self-exclusion. The terms say a lower limit applies straight away while a higher one waits seven days, and that self-exclusion covers every site on the operator's network, cannot be reversed early, and closes the account with any balance returned. You can also ask for your full gambling history at any time. The safer gambling page explains each tool.

Five checks you can run yourself

  1. Step 1: Confirm the address

You should be on www.betneptune.com over https. Lookalike domains are the most common trap.

  2. Step 2: Follow the licence link from the footer

It should open the Gambling Commission's own site, not a copy, and show account 39335.

  3. Step 3: Find the domain on that entry

Open the domain names list and look for www.betneptune.com. A licence number alone proves little if the site is not on it.

  4. Step 4: Read the rest of the entry

The register also shows the licence activities and any regulatory action taken against the licensee. It is worth reading for yourself before you deposit.

  5. Step 5: Only send documents through the cashier

ID and proof of address go through the operator's own verification process, never by reply to an email or chat you did not start.

Copycat pages

Popular brand names attract imitators. Be wary of any page that uses the BetNeptune name but sits on another domain, asks for a password or card details outside the operator's own site, or promises offers that are not on the official promotions page. This site, too, is not the operator, which is why it has no login and no cashier. Our login guide shows what the genuine sign-in looks like.

Safety questions

Is Neptune Casino legit?
It depends which one you mean. BetNeptune is run by ProgressPlay Limited under Gambling Commission account 39335, and its domain is on that account. For Neptune Play, sometimes also called Neptune Casino, we can only report that its domain showed "Inactive" on the register on 26 September 2026. See which Neptune is which.
Does a UK licence mean I will be paid quickly?
No. A licence sets rules on fairness, customer protection and safer gambling, but payout speed is a commercial matter. BetNeptune's published times run from one to seven business days after processing; the payments guide has them all.
Is my money protected if the operator fails?
Licensees must tell customers how their funds are protected, and the level of protection varies between operators. Look for the statement on customer funds in BetNeptune's terms before you hold a large balance there. We have not rated it.
Are the games fair?
Games on a licensed British site have to meet the Commission's technical standards. We do not test games ourselves and publish no return-to-player figures; each game's help screen shows its own.
Who do I complain to?
Start with the operator's support. If that does not resolve it, the terms describe a complaints process and an independent dispute service. The Gambling Commission's site explains how the system works.
